The Matchæologist® Matcha Brewing Kit combines our signature artisanal grade matcha with a carefully selected assortment of handcrafted matcha-ware products curated and designed to balance traditional ceremonial values with contemporary functionality. The kit contains our artisanal matcha, Matsu™, a Cloud Glass Chawan (handblown double-walled glass bowl), a Full-Hand Chasen (full-length bamboo matcha whisk), and a Bamboo Chashaku (matcha measuring spoon), everything you need to partake in an ancient ceremony in modern style.

Matcha: Before use, cut open the inner bag and gently empty the contents into the tin. Refrigerate after opening for optimal flavor and potency.
Full-Hand Chasen: Remove the stand from the bamboo whisk during use. After each use, rinse with cold water and dry in a well-circulated area.
Bamboo Chashaku: After each use, rinse with cold water and dry in a well-circulated area.
Cloud Glass Chawan: After each use, gently rinse with room-temperature water. Not microwave or dishwasher safe. Avoid sudden changes in temperature to glassware.

The Matcha Brewing kit is one of the best investments I have made. The kit is beautifully put together with high quality. The glass Chawan, bamboo chasen to the Chashaku is very well made. The Chawan design is very clean and simple, made perfectly to mix the Matcha.
I made the Misaki tea, and the flavors were phenomenal. I could taste the roasted flavors to the subtle sweetness. It was very smooth and I could feel the caffeine right away, it was very potent,
which is a good thing. 🙂
I am very content with my purchase from Matchaeoligist. Never had such good Matcha at a home setting.
Customer service was also a great.
Due to Covid, it took some time for the set to arrive, but Ken Tanaka reached out to me and apologized for the delay. He offered to issue a refund but, there was no way I would cancel my order. I knew greatness was headed my way. It’s all about patience. So I want to really thank Ken for going above and beyond.

The matcha kit and bowl are absolutely top quality and beautiful. The presentation and packaging made me want to immediately use it. Now, that being said I am not new to Matcha. While I loved the entire experience, upon opening the Matsu I immediately noticed the darker color. Granted, the Matsu is not the highest grade ceremonial matcha but it is noted to have a high vibrancy which it lacked completely. Perhaps I got a bad or wrong batch?The taste notes were exactly as noted (roastier more vegetable taste) due to the lack of chlorophyll. While I loved the brewing kit I was not a fan of the option for Matcha. Would have loved an option to upgrade to a higher quality one even if that meant I paid the extra cost. For its price $20+ there are better matcha's out there. Shall try the highest grade and reevaluate. Picture is of bowl but not of Matsu. Matsu was significantly darker than this.

Our Matsu™ grade has a deeper shade of green as you mentioned given that we extend the roasting period for a slightly longer time to give it a subtle roast flavor and aroma. We would also highly recommend the Misaki™ grade if you prefer a more vibrant color.
